1st Kings 18: 41-46
You will always attract what you expect. Whatever you settle your mind on, your life will begin to attract it.
One of the foremost teachers on faith, Charles Cappsit, helps us to understand that there is nothing a man experiences that had not been expected. That means the outcomes of your life today are generated from your predominant thought of yesterday. Don’t just watch your words; watch your thoughts. You become what you think; you attract what you say;  so, watch your thoughts. Prayer is important but your thoughts are superior. This is why the Bible says, ‘As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7 (KJV).
You are a reflection of your predominant thoughts. This is why the Bible did not say as a man prays but rather his thoughts. You will attract what your faith expects. Matthew 9:29 TPT-Then Jesus puts his hands over their eyes and said, “You will have what your faith expects.”
Life supplies on the frequency of expectations. It does not give you what you wish from it, but what you  demand from it. If you are a quitter, you have already resigned yourself to a life of mediocrity. You will receive what you expect if you do not stop expecting it. Do not quit, do not lower your expectations.
There is passage of time between when you start expecting and when your expectation manifests because time is the instrument by which we check your conviction as it would measure if your conviction is strong enough. Mediocre are found in the life of people with lower expectations. This is why if your mind captures it and the scripture guarantees it, no negotiations, you are going forward. Proverbs 23:18 (AMP) – Surely there is a future [and a reward], and your hope and expectation will not be cut off.
The reason your previous expectations were not realized was that the devil preferred it so, so that you will stop living by expectation, knowing that expectation is what brings manifestation. The second reason is because you did not fight long enough. Whatever you want, expect it. You must however know that you must never have expectation without a solidly prayer life. Your expectation should be reflected in your prayer life. This is because many failed expectations are a result of failed prayer life.
Living without expectation is a foundation for great frustration. What makes life works outside is what people don’t see; it is called your prayer life. This means the best response to unrealized expectation is continued prayer and not lowered expectation.
