Hebrew 11: 1 (AMPC)

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. “

Faith is a combination of two things: substance and evidence. Substance in the Greek word is ‘hypostasis’, which can be translated as ‘foundation’.

Faith is foundation. It is what you stand on in anticipation of what you long or hope for. Anything which you desire to build into existence must be predicated on a foundation and that foundation is faith.

The Bible calls faith the substance; that is the substructure of what you hope for. It is possible that what you hope for has never come to reality because it was built on nothing and if, at all, it was built on anything, that would be something else other than the Word of God.

Hope is dashed because it is built on connections, intelligence, exposure, physical senses, human promises or other human-related factors and not on the Word of God.

Your confidence in things to become reality should be because the Word of God guarantees your expectation. In essence, we make declarations on the Word of God.
