Topic: God can not Trust you with Greater if you Mess up Lesser
Rev. Sam Oye, the Lead Pastor of the Transforming Church, made this remark on Sunday, July 30, 2023, while preaching on Practical ways of attracting the help of God.
In his message on How to Attract Divine Connections and Position Oneself for the Marvelous Help of God, he cited David as an example of someone helped by God. 1 Chronicles 12:22 says, “For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like an army of God.”
God elevated David because of his people (Israel). David had an accurate understanding of position, privilege, and power because, in II Samuel 5:12, the scripture says, “Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.”
One of the practical ways to attract the help of God is through dedication to God’s purpose. God saw that David’s perception was right, and for that reason, He started sending men to David.
“Every great man is helped by God. Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
“Dedication to the purpose of God for your life attracts the help of God. When you pursue God’s purpose, he will cause destiny’s helpers to pursue and find you. This is not a catchphrase; it is a statement of reality. When your obsession becomes the execution of God’s purpose on earth, that through your life God will ride into the hearts of men, that God will through your hands bring help and comfort to men, that God will use your voice, thought pattern, and skillset to add value to humanity, when that becomes your obsession, helpers will not be far from you.”
If the purpose you are looking for is not what God originally designed for you, he will not back you up.
“Dedication to the purpose of God for your life attracts the help of God. When your obsession becomes the execution of God’s purpose on earth, then helpers will never be far from you.”
Also using Esther as a case study, he said Mordecai sent men to tell Esther that the reason she was on the throne was because of God’s people, stating that every great person needs a ‘Mordecai’s voice’.
“If you cannot connect what you do or your purpose to God’s people, then you will be brought down like Queen Vashti. You are here for a bigger purpose. When you forget your purpose, you will abuse your office, cutting your days and influence short. God can’t trust you for the greater when you mess up the lesser”.
“Every great person needs Mordecai’s voice. The reason many Christians get to positions of authority and begin to misbehave is either because they had no Mordecai involved in their developmental process or because they got there and cut off Mordecai. Let’s not go into government because before it started in government offices, it started in small places. It starts small! Head of procurement, you procure mysteriously. When you forget your purpose, you will abuse your office. The abuse of office cuts your days and your influence short.”
“If you are praying for prosperity and position, what is the purpose? Ask yourself, why should God bless me, increase me or send me helpers? If it is for the kingdom, then you will see God work for you in places where you are not qualified. God is not looking for perfection but for a heart for the kingdom.
“You must be wise to tie your lifting to God’s kingdom. God is looking at purpose and motives when you are busy talking about moves. God cannot focus only on His purpose and ignore your needs. The moment you forget your purpose, you will be like a tree meant to be planted by rivers of water, forgetting its source.”
You were not blessed for you. You were not lifted for you. You are lifted for the kingdom
Every great man is helped by God; whatever you have accomplished, minus God, you will not be where you are.
God is the source of all the achievements of all helped men.
How do you position yourself for the help of God – Dedication to His purpose.

When you begin to pursue God’s purpose, HE will continue to send destiny helpers to follow you
