Topic: Beware of The Danger of ‘Glory Porn’. You Cannot Catch Certain Things Via Live Stream
“In current times, we have churchgoers who want to stay at home and enjoy their Sunday services online because COVID-19 taught us that we can catch the anointing in our homes through live-streaming. However, there are only some things you can catch in a livestream. Also, this implies that YOU CANNOT CATCH CERTAIN THINGS FROM A LIVE STREAM”
Prophet Tomi Arayomi made this profound statement at the Prophetic Prayer Conference, organized by Rev. Sam Oye, the Lead Pastor of the Transforming Church and the Convener of the daily Prophetic Prayer Hour at the Grace International Church, Houston, Texas, USA.
The Prophetic Prayer Conference began on Saturday 12 August 2023 at the Overcomers Christian Fellowship, Atlanta Georgia, therefore proceeded to Baltimore, at the RCCG House of Praise, on Saturday 19, 2023, and thereafter to Huston Texas at the Grace International Church, to the Bahamas for August 29, 2023. Not stopping on his oars, Rev. Sam Oye, will be organizing the Prophetic Prayer Conference at the Rhema Christian Ministry for the 1st and 2nd of September in Canada and closing in grand style at the Arora Ball Room, Intercontinental London – the O2, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September.
While speaking at the Texas Prophetic Prayer Conference, on the topic, “Revival which is already here”, taking his text from Ezekiel 37: 1-8 said, Unless we understand the power of the prophetic, we will continue to pray with fear. This can lead to our fears attracting the things we are attempting to rebuke with prayers. Prayers are very dangerous without precision. Deliverances can be very dangerous without precision. he said.
It is essential to know that everything that follows us in life is a symptom of what we believe. If you believe that you can cast out demons, you will cast out demons. If you believe that demons are bigger than you are then those signs will follow you, he said.
Fleshing his thought on the “glory porn”, he gave a story on his accidental experience in the hotel.
“This happened when I mistakenly discovered a couple engaged in intimacy in a hotel building across my hotel room window. After closing the window blinds and praying on a call with my wife, the Lord said to me; In trying to understand what “glory porn” means from God, He explained that while the couple were engaged in intercourse, that was them in their most intimate moment together. However, what the couple perceives as intimacy, someone from the outside looking in from a window would see it as pornography. This reflects on the dangers of watching the moves of God from your house. What is happening in the room could be the most intimate act of a person with God.
However, if you are watching from your home, all you see is “glory porn”.
“When the day of Pentecost came, the disciples were all in a room. Everyone else who was not under the influence of the Holy Spirit was watching from the live stream (outside) and when they saw the intimate act of God, they said these men were drunk (Acts 2: 13). Certain moves of God occur and when you are absent for any reason or at home when they happen, you will miss them”.
“Revival does not respect grief. What if God picks the greatest moment to make His move, and the enemy proceeds to set up messy, discouraging and disappointing scenarios to keep you away from being inside the “room”? We must understand that everyone in the room caught the Fire of God; whereas, everyone outside caught smoke. In recent times, this could be seen in how COVID-19 has taught us to stay at home and watch sermons from a live stream. When God is getting ready to bring a revival to a nation, He always puts it far away from where you are” He said.
Furthermore “Believers must note that the church is not just about being a building; it is about the people in it. However, it does not change the significance of the church in humanity. In the same vein, in the case of Noah, when looking at the animals and the ark, the animals and other living beings were essential but everyone was doomed without the ark”. He said.
Expatiating on his topic, “Revival means to come back alive again. Anything that is revived has come back to life. From the passage of Ezekiel 37: 1 – 8, Ezekiel was faced with a predicament as he traversed through Israel. Immediately, he became aware that it is easier to raise someone from the dead when they have only been dead for a short time (not yet decomposed) but it is harder to raise a decomposed dead body at the skeletal level”.
“When Ezekiel was asked if these bones could live, seeing how decomposed the bones were, he understood how long those dried bones had been dead. It is surprising to note that according to Israel in the present, they believed they were alive, but from the vision based on God’s audit, they have been dead for many years. God told Ezekiel to prophesy upon those bones, not to pray over them. We need prayers in our lives, but as much as we do, we also need prophecies. Prophecies give prayers focus and purpose”.
“Amidst all our current struggles in humanity, God is still standing with us and wants to pour out His breath, but He is waiting for the bones, structure or wineskin to pour His breath into”.
“In everything we do, we should never lose the prophetic. We must never mistake or look down on what prophecies mean or signify. We are constantly in pursuit of happiness, but happiness is not God’s intended pursuit for us. Holiness is what God intends for us to pursue. Do not forget that not everything holy will make us happy. God intends to be certain that we are holy before He can grant us happiness”. He said.
“We, as believers, all want the breath of God in our lives but nobody wants to be responsible for the bones. The essence of everything we receive from the Lord is to eventually be the rebuilders of the old ruins. In our pursuit of the law of God, we are recruited to be harvesters for the work of the kingdom”, he said.
“The breath of God requires bones and structure. If the bones are not together, there is no point in talking about the breath of God. We have churches today that lack structure and believe that meeting together is no longer necessary due to online streaming”.
Concluding his message, “The revival we seek has been made available for the past two thousand (2000) years. Jesus has made that possible. However, what is missing are the labourers to work in God’s vineyard. We, as believers, are still stuck in the mindset that we are the harvest instead of the harvesters. This causes us to be in a continuous state of just receiving the word and receiving the prayers from prophets. This leads to always wanting blessings, prayers, miracles, and anointing without eventually transitioning ourselves to labourers, workers and servants of the Lord”.
