Topic: FLOURISHING AND THRIVING THROUGH GRACE FOR MULTIPLICATION
“Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” So he set out and went to Zarephath, and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks [for firewood]. He called out to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a jar, so that I may drink.” As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand.” But she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar. See, I am gathering a few sticks so that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it [as our last meal] and die.” Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. Just make me a little bread from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward you may make one for yourself and for your son. For this is what the Lord God of Israel says: ‘The bowl of flour shall not be exhausted nor shall the jar of oil be empty until the day that the Lord sends rain [again] on the face of the earth.’ ” She went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. The bowl of flour was not exhausted nor did the jar of oil become empty, in accordance with the word of the Lord which He spoke through Elijah.”
One word seems to describe everything that women are praying for; multiplication. The only thing that stabilizes women in the midst of all the transitions of life is their faith in God.
Multiplication is an act of reproducing and increasing a particular thing several times over its original figure. It is all about making sure that what is kept in your hands is not the same way it was given to you. God’s ultimate desire and will is the multiplication of His children; that everything we do multiplies.
Genesis 17: 2 (NKJV)
”And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
God’s commitment is for your multiplication. He wants your business, influence, revenue, impart and all that concerns you to multiply.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MULTIPLICATION
- It is a divine programming:Multiplication is an empowerment. Every living thing on earth, from plants to animals, are programmed to multiply. In essence, all things are designed to multiply.
Psalm 107: 38 (TPT)
“God will bless them and cause them to multiply and prosper.”
When God created man, the first thing He said to them was to be fruitful and multiply. Essentially, the proof that anything is blessed is that it multiplies.
Genesis 1: 28 (KJV)
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
If it is not multiplying, then it should be questioned if it is blessed. If it is blessed and not multiplying, it should be questioned if there is a war behind it. In essence, everything God blesses multiplies. More than everything that you acquire, seek the blessings of God because one of the things the blessings of God does is to multiply.
Multiplications are in levels; either greatly or exceedingly. God has planted in us the capacity and potentials to multiply. In other words, whatever God has given you can be multiplied.
Dedication brings about multiplication. What you are not dedicated to, you cannot multiply in. What it takes to multiply is in you. No matter the seasons of life that you are in, you should hold on to the fact that God is sufficient for you.
Life comes with its twists and turns but you should know that you have all it takes in you to multiply. God planted it in you independent of any one or thing.
Life is a series of connection. The first thing you need to do is to take the first step, followed by the next steps, and then watch things unfold. You do not know the true worth of the things you carry until you push them out.
