Topic: FLOURISHING AND THRIVING THROUGH WISDOM
“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
Wise people care and they empower others. Wise people have control – they practice mindfulness and restrain. They do not just do what they feel, they think before they act or speak.
Wise people are decisive. They know what to do. They have the courage and discipline to do what they know. You are not going to be blessed because of what you know, but because of what you do that you know. The doing point is always the turning point. That is, until you act is when you begin to see results.
Wise people have the ability to accommodate diversity. They open their mind to the differences in people.
Wise people practice reflection. They reflect over their actions, decisions and that is why they do not repeat mistakes.
THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WISDOM OF GOD
The wisdom of God is not the same with that of men. Likewise, wisdom is in degrees. We have devilish, sensual and intellectual wisdom. But the wisdom from above, which is from God is divine and peaceable.
- God’s wisdom is multifaceted: God’s wisdom is manifolds.
Ephesians 3: 10 (NKJV)
“to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the Heavenly places,”
There is a dimension of God’s wisdom that demons do not have access to and the ones angels do not understand. God’s wisdom has many sides – the spiritual, financial, family, career, relationships, intellect, etc. Some people can be highly gifted in any of these sides than the other. You might have the wisdom for career or businesses but lack wisdom in the area of relationships. Instead of being concerned with one direction, we should yearn for other manifolds of the wisdom of God.
- Wisdom is the principal force that control every other forces:
Proverbs 4: 7 (NKJV)
“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
Wisdom is the most important thing. Solomon chose wisdom because he knew the impact of it. Anything you have without wisdom is foolishness. It is what you need to coordinate every other thing. For instance, you would need to have wisdom to know how favor will come and how it is going to keep flowing in your life.
- Wisdom is what provides solution to difficult situations:Most situations or problems we attribute to the devil is at times the cause of lack of wisdom. The way out of every situation is to get wisdom for it; also through prayers and meditation.
1 Chronicles 12: 32 (NJKV)
“of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;”
Wisdom gives the ability to know what to do per time. Wisdom puts you in charge. In essence, it puts you in command and gives you the understanding of what to do, at the right time. Some people commit suicide because they think they have nothing to do or have no other way out again. Nothing eliminates frustration like knowing what to do.
