“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.”
What is Grace?
Grace is God’s undeserved and unmerited favor. There are blessings contingent on obedience but when it comes to grace, it is administered by the sovereignty of God. This means that God chooses whom He blesses and He exercises the right to who He administers His favor.
Although there are things you can do that will make you enjoy the favor of God, that does not mean that is why you will be favored. For example being humble will attract God’s favor on you, but it does not mean that is the sole reason why God will have favor on you. Being humble is just one of the things that will attract God to favor you.
There are some blessings that are invoked because of your actions: like getting involved in service in God’s house, you have predictably placed upon your life the covenant blessings of God. But when it comes to the administration of Grace, we are talking about the prejudices of God.
Grace is God’s uncaused (no reasons) goodness and love at work in you, through you and for you. Grace is what you receive from a gracious Father because that is His nature.
REASONS YOU NEED THE GRACE OF GOD:
- Grace gives Access:
Ephesians 2:8 (AMP)
“For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;”
We have access to salvation by Grace. Salvation does not only means being saved from sin, but also having divine healing and other good things found in Christ. Grace is a gift that God gives men that causes us to have access to the things of God.
- Grace gives the Advantage:
As evidenced in the main text (2 Corinthians 9: 8), When God puts grace on man, he begins to have advantage.

“To me, [though I am] the very least of all the saints (God’s people), this grace [which is undeserved] was graciously given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the good news of the incomprehensible riches of Christ [that spiritual wealth which no one can fully understand],”
What is your advantage? It is the spiritual blessings or benefits that come from living a life according to God’s will and principles. The advantage God gave to you is where your prosperity lies. The reason for your poverty is the abandonment of your advantage. If you stay long with your advantage, life will reward you.
- Grace gives Acceleration (speed)
- Grace gives Amplification
- Grace gives Assistance
There is no smallness in the future of a Graced man. The season of Grace is not the season for rest. When you are in the season of Grace, you squeeze out all the juice available in it.
John 9: 4 (KJV)
“We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work.”
When in the season of Grace, use it wisely and diligently. There is a limited amount of time accompanied with the season of Grace. In essence, never fail to seize and make use of opportunities during the season of Grace.
