Topic: FLOURISHING AND THRIVING BY GRACE
”And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.”
There are different dimensions of favor; favor with family members, favor with God, favor with men, favor with people in government or in the market place, etcetera.
Esther recognized that the marital favor she had with the king was different from the favor she would require in speaking with him about government matters. That was why she requested that the Jews fast along with her so as to find favor in the presence of the king.
Esther 4: 16 – 17 (NKJV)
”Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shush-an, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
Wherever you are experiencing trouble in, it means you lack favor in it. It is important to never take proximity with others for granted. You must always define what proximity gives you access to.
In other words, do not abuse proximity or access to others. You should understand the jurisdictions that favor with people cover. We must be very careful of premature exposures.
Just as there is management for talents and skills, there is also management for favor. The mismanagement of favor will cause favour to cease in operation. It is essential not to carry favor to where it will not be protected. Many people are crying today because they have extended the jurisdiction of favor beyond its limits.
Every seed has its proper soil where favor works for it. Where one gets favored is different from that of another person. If your favor is in a particular state and you are living in a different state, it could be the reason for your perpetual struggles. The reason certain trees die is because they are planted where the soil nutrients does not support their growth.
It is possible that so many people, despite their skills, talents and other essential abilities, are still not flourishing because they are in the wrong profession that favor does not cover them for. You must ensure that you know where God wants you to be because wherever God is, favor abounds.
Grace makes you a wonder and favor makes a difference. A graceful life is a joyful life; while a graceless life is a sorrowful life. Also, a life filled with grace is a life that is solid-proof against disgrace.
This means that when you are graced, disgrace will be far from you. Grace is the unmerited and undeserved favor of God. The moment you begin to feel you deserve it, then you are no longer a graced candidate.
Grace is, what we call, uncaused. In essence, it is the uncaused goodness, love and favor of God on your life. You should identify that grace gives you what you do not merit. Subscribing to grace gives you super exceedingly and far above results that you deserve.
Ephesians 2: 8 – 9 (KJV)
”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.“
David, despite the atrocities he committed, was still called the man after God’s heart. This is because he knew how to find his way through to God by prayers.
Praying is part of the signs of humility. It shows you are acknowledging that there is nothing you can do without the involvement or help of God. In contrary, when you become prayer-less, you are simply demonstrating that you can handle the matters of life all by yourself.
You should recognize that above your brains, preparations, skills, presentations or any of your human capabilities, there is the need for the covering of the grace of God over all your endeavors.
