Rest In The Midst Of Storm by Pastor Sunday Adeamiro
Bible Text: Mark 4:35-41
“ That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
It is easy to rest when the environment is serene or when things are going well. But when we are faced or overwhelmed with difficult situations, resting is not easy. The Bible says the peace of God surpasses human understanding. Peace is supernatural.
We should never tie our rest to anything or any situation. It is detrimental to think that we will find rest in money, relationships or positions of power because all these things are subject to change.
So many men are out there seeking rest on the thighs of young ladies. Side chicks are more liable to lay such men to rest than give them rest. Do not lose your honour by looking for rest in the wrong place.
JESUS IS THE GIVER OF PEACE.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through”.
