Worship and Wonders Part IV
Topic: A true worshipper. Luke 7:37-50 By Pastor Sunday Adebamiro There are certain attributes which make a true worshipper to stand out. This attribute cuts across every gender. A true worshipper can't be locked out. From the scripture read, the woman in question broke all rules binding religion, tradition, intellectual and physical relationships just to be at the event. This act of a true worshipper makes you to ask the question of how because a true worshipper gains access not easily accessible. This quality alludes to David and blind Bartimeaus as true worshippers are known to break barriers and make history. It must be understood that worship is a universal key that opens every door. It is also a weapon to engage in, taking example from the case of Paul and Silas. Worship is different from gifts. Although gift paved way for Messi and Ronaldo in their earthly careers, but worship is a key. Doors respect keys irrespective of the holder. Therefore, as a child of God, hold on to worship as you can be out of any prison through it. My personal experience as a worshipper is the fact that worship has open doors beyond my human comprehension. As an individual, I found myself with people whom I knew I can't mingle with in terms of positions. All this is because worship can put you in places of honour. A true worshipper’s concern is Jesus and nothing else. The woman wasn't deterred by people around but focused on Jesus whom she sought. A true worshipper is not concerned with the symphony of musical instruments rather a true worshipper sacrifices anything just to express love. A closer look at the place read will make you know it's an agarian society. This means Jesus' journey to the place meant he had dusty feet. According to custom, everyone’s feet was washed except Jesus. Despite not being in the church-folk, the woman showed up at the nick of time. Asides using her tears in place of water, she also used her hair which is a woman's glory to wipe Jesus' feet. She didn't withhold anything to worship Jesus. This shows where our passion lies and what we hold dearly. Worship can be hypocritical i.e done in exchange for something. True worship motive should be love. Time changes, mundane things become irrelevant overtime. This has made people to do unthinkable things. However, as a true worshipper, what matters is our relationship with God which is not conditional. Nomatter who you're or what you've gone through have a heart to worship.
