Nehemiah 1: 1-11

Just a little shift in your thinking may be all you need. You don’t have to wait till you are old before you realise the world has gone ahead of you. It is critical for you to understand that something new is coming out of the horizon; you, therefore, need to stand out from the pack.
Is it possible that your standing up will set someone else in resonance, or is it possible that your lifting will lead to the lifting up of others?
In recent times, the body of Christ has begun to accept the standard of the world as its model. It is, however, important to know that the people with outstanding history are those who respond differently to things compared to the way the crowd responds; they are called the Counter Culture Generation. These individuals do not follow downwards like rivers flow; they flow upwards. They negate the common culture. They act this way because they respond only to a higher vision. This is seen in the case of Nehemiah.
The proof that you love something is decided by the sacrifice you are willing to make. If you love something, you must have the corresponding sacrifice. Successful people are always subjected to strong works ethic and outstanding sacrifices. Poor sacrifice is the recipe for mediocrity; weak sacrifice is also a recipe for mediocre life. Desire without corresponding sacrifice is the reason for most frustrations at old age. Bishop TD Jakes once said that his greatest regret in life is that he didn’t take as much risks as he should have when he was younger. He would have accomplished more in life than he has, so far.
What is keeping you in the state of comfort is making you feel you are on the right path when, by the God’s purpose and plan for your life, you haven’t even scratched the surface of your assignment. Do not be deceived by people who tell you that you still have time; in reality, you don’t have time on your side. The subtlety of this statement is that it gets into you and shuts you down. It further helps to wear your zeal for destiny and in the process, the pursuit of life’s assignment becomes mundane to you. At that point, you begin to focus on the minors of life leaving out the major assignments.
People who start late on their assignments try to recover the times they have lost. The worst thing the enemy can do to you is to surround you with people who are not visionary. This is why your quest for the great things in life has become sedated, because if you play, you would not realise that you carry the anointing to save a nation. Develop an internal sensory system where you do not surround yourself with people that are comfortable in mediocrity. Be around people that will inspire and constantly stir you up to work on your assignment. You are called to make global impact in your sphere of influence. The Bible says that God has blessed us to be a blessing to nations. As a child of Abraham, you are a gift to nations; your seed must possess the gates of nations. You have to carry out the dominion mandate. This is the principle that under-guards every market dominance. You are not ordinary; you are a champion.
If your dream is to come alive, you have to make sacrifice. In the 21 irrefutable Laws of Leadership, John. C. Maxwell stated that in the law of sacrifice, you have to give up in order to go up. You cannot hold on to and go up at the same time. The key to success is sacrifice for what you love. When it’s time to accomplish certain goals, certain things have to go.

Hebrews 12:1
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

Who and what has slowed you down on your quest to fulfilling your assignment? The reason you have stopped going up is because you have not made any new sacrifice. Every person that has succeeded in life had to give up something.
Your sympathetic attitude in life may be the reason you have a pathetic life. Your unwillingness to offend people today maybe the reason you will offend destinytomorrow. Sometimes, the most necessary thing to do is the hardest thing to do.
Again, one of the 17 indisputable laws of team work by John. C. Maxwell states that the team in an organisation will fail to reach their potential when they refuse to pay the price needed. In essence, without sacrifice, there would be no progress. The team will not maximise its potential because of the desire to embrace the path of least resistance. This is the reason the path of water is not linear, obstacles redirect the path of water. What doesn’t reach its pre-designed goals always end up in a destination arranged for it by obstacles. Many of us are like water, whenever we are faced with obstacles, we redirect our paths.

Genesis 49: 4 says:
“Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou [it]: he went up to my couch.”

If you do not pay the price, you will not get the prize. If you have a goal to accomplish, there is a prize you have to pay. You must pay the price for the prize to become a reality. People living average and unproductive life is as a result of lack of sacrifice for things they love. Sacrifice is very crucial; if you love something, you need to make sacrifices for it. The true definition of love is sacrifice.
Nehemiah sacrificed his comfort and Job in order to find his destiny. He gave up being a cup bearer to becoming a nation builder.
Prolonged contemplation weakens destiny momentum. By the time you are ready, the season is passed. When destiny knocks on your door, respond immediately because at that time, there is abundance of grace. The worst thing that can happen to you is to see someone else working on your dream. Stop running commentary on your assignment; step into it now because if you wait any longer, you will step into it when heaven is no longer by your side. It is better to step into your assignment under open heavens than to step into it trying to open up the heavens. Let go of the fear in your life; step into your assignment.
What are you willing to give up to be all that God wants you to be? You cannot go up with all you are carrying; your destiny requires light flight. You have to shed off some weights; what you didn’t shed off privately, you will shed off publicly.
